September 1, 2009: Monitoring H1N1 Influenza Vaccine Ethics and Policy
As development of a vaccine against H1N1 influenza (swine flu) proceeds toward a likely mass immunization program this fall, VaccineEthics.org is tracking developments in ethical and policy issues related to H1N1 flu vaccines and vaccination efforts. February 17, 2008: Ethics Chapter Published in 5th Edition of "Vaccines"
VaccineEthics.org staff from the Penn Center for Bioethics have contributed a chapter titled "Ethics" in the newly released 5th edition of Vaccines (Plotkin, Orenstein, and Offit, eds.), the internationally-respected reference text. The chapter on ethics - new to the 5th edition - examines the spectrum of ethical issues throughout the vaccine life-cycle and issues unique to vaccination in select populations or for specific disease targets.

November 1, 2007: VaccineEthics.org Staff on HPV Vaccine State Requirements
The December issue of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics includes a paper by researchers from the Penn Center for Bioethics and Johns Hopkins University titled "Lessons from the Failure of Human Papillomavirus Vaccine State Requirements." The paper reviews the controversy caused by state proposals to require HPV vaccination among students and considers the impact of this debate on long-term HPV vaccination efforts. September 4, 2007: VaccineEthics.org Relaunched
September 4 marks the completion of a major expansion and redesign of VaccineEthics.org, the first and only site devoted to the ethics of vaccines. The news blog can now be found at blog.vaccineethics.org. Feedback on the redesign is welcome.
